Jamey, this recovering what’s up with the Biden campaign? Might you also be able to share insights on this latest platform change by Trump and the GOP?
“The abortion section has been softened. There is no longer a reference to “traditional marriage” as between “one man and one woman.” And there is no longer an emphasis on reducing the national debt, only a brief line about “slashing wasteful government spending.”
The question is for Jamie but I have a quick reaction. The so-called "softened" version of the platform is nailed by a reader's comment: "It's the old bait-and-switch, not new to Republicans."
How could dems just be learning about Joe Biden? Doesn't he meet with members of the house and senate? I thought he lucked out in 2020 with covid and his basement campaign. He looked bad at the democrat debate before things shut down. I just can't understand how this is a surprise for the democrats.
Richard, I covered him in 2020 before the shutdown. He was just fine. He had no troubles at his events, big or small.
As for why lawmakers don't notice - they don't get much interaction with the President. If they are lucky, it's a minute here or there. Most never get to speak to him. It's only the key lawmakers and leaders who would have more time with him, whether in person, or on the phone.
When they saw him last up close in his State of the Union Address, he was fine. I did a podcast about how he stuck around for more than 30 minutes talking with individual members. That was only a few months ago. https://jamiedupree.substack.com/p/what-matters-came-after-the-speech
Excellent and thanks for this. There are no flies on Joe Biden.
As you know, this latest hoopla about his mental acuity is being exploited by Dark Brandon because lots of voters cheer for the underdog. Like it or not, many are now Ridin' with Biden.
Could someone please offer a definition for the latest kooky conservative made-up word “lawfare”? Is it related to “deep state” and “antifa” or something different?
Using laws in a malicious way. Which I think is a bad thing, sure. But people who use the term today only use it in relation to Trump. Such as when what is usually a misdemeanor (filing false business papers) is turned into a felony. But, like Trump, they always go overboard. While I think the NY case is probably a good example of this, Trump's people also include his threats to Raffensperger, his retaining classified information, and others.
Like Hootsbuddy said, the term has been around for a while. But the practice has been around forever. Cops pulling someone over for failing to use a signal then tearing the car apart because they "suspected" the driver had drugs.
I love that there is a section heading that is “Refrigerator Freedom”
Ugh and I know it’s Jamie. ☺️
Was the Just Damn heading a throwback to radio days? Made me smile
That brought back some good memories. I always enjoyed Royal Marshall better than Boortz.

It's a portmanteau of the words "law" and "warfare" and has been around since the Seventies. Wikipedia explains. And yes, I agree it's kooky.
