"The only crime victim you hear about from Democrats and the media is Paul Pelosi," said Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), as the crowd booed.
MTG is now such a MAGA star, she’s sent to whip up the low information voters in Iowa. And Speaker McCarthy is poised to give her even more power in 2023. The GOP digs a fresh basement for itself daily.
So I wonder aloud... In Georgia "Trump's candidates were badly spanked" (interesting metal image, Jamie) but in Arizona the Trumpists all won their primaries and will likely win the general. What's happening in AZ that's not happening in GA?
I wondered if it's a question of what happened in Georgia. Trump made stronger efforts to overturn the vote there, and I wonder if some of the elected Republicans and/or regular voting Republicans turned against him for that.
I think this is it. When it came to light that Trump threatened Georgia officials the Republicans that were on the fence chose the "non-Trump" side of the GOP. Even so, they're still stuck with Trumpist Walker.
It's kind of remarkable that Raffensperger and Kemp completely bounced back and have suffered no ill effects (well, aside from the death threats to their families from 45 cultists). And because college football is a religion in the South, Walker can win without Trump. I still can't wrap my head completely around how close Walker is to winning.
Yes but I think many folks are just voting for Walker the GOPer and not Walker the man. IMO, no different than voting for Fetterman, who clearly has demonstrated cognitive challenges. Many people are voting for the "D" and not him, the man.
Certianly no more qualified than a reality TV huckster who's elected president but that's not what I'm getting at. The point is these days there are people out there who look past the candidates failings and weaknesses and just look at the letter next to their name. At this point in time, if I were putting money on cognitive and communicative abilities I'd have to give it to Oz. But, like I said, people look at the letter next to the name and put that into decision making process.
States already have the power to do permanent "daylight savings time" by the state government making a formal request to Pete Buttigieg to move one time zone to the east. However, selling the public on moving from say Eastern Standard Time to Atlantic Standard Time would be difficult because so few actually comprehend there is no difference between that and Eastern Daylight Time.
Exactly... also, I don't think folks get that in some cities the sun wouldn't rise until 9A if we went down this path. I wish the hardest thing in my life was just figuring out a clock switch twice a year.
If Texas moved one time zone to the east right now, we'd still change our clocks in the spring, just like Georgia does. (We'd have to jump over three states to make this change, which would be weird.) We'd have to request time zone changes twice a year, effective on clock-change days, to keep from having to change our clocks.
The thing is, clock changes are not healthy. Researchers find numerous negative health effects from changing the clocks, and not just for people who need medicine on very rigid schedules. They also find that regular time is healthier, because it is more in harmony with our circadian rhythms. If we don't care about our health, we do at least care about health care costs, and every little helps, as the British say. Let's just get on and stay on regular time.

It boggles my mind that Walker may very well win. Very distressing to me, as a GA resident. And I'm a lifelong Dawg.
I can't believe anyone would vote for a Senator because of football, but then again...Tuberville won too.
There were so many better GOP candidates in the primary. Sigh.

So, based on your theory, a TV doc is the more qualified candidate, Brad?
