The House is soon going to be in 2025 budget territory. They might as well make a carbon copy of what they finally pass and make it the following year's budget, too. 🙄

So Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS) deep sixes Tammy Duckworth’s bill to protect IVF by unanimous consent while the GOP SAYS they support IVF for all. Then, Clarence Thomas gets to decide whether Trump has immunity from attempting a coup his wife helped plan without nary a thought of recusing himself. The House GOP works 2 days, accomplishes nothing & then takes another break. And all the while Donald is running the country with an iron fist. Make it make sense! I'm at a loss for words. I left the following comment at last night's Letter from an American which appeared in my Facebook timeline:

~ Events unfolding in Washington have become so unbelievable I have a hard time even leaving comments about them. All my life the Democrats have been the part of craziness and diversity while the GOP was a model of almost military conformity and discipline.

The old saying was "Democrats fall in love while Republicans fall in line." But now the Democrats (and fellow travelers like Bernie, the Squad and a few others) are the ones falling in line while the Republicans have formed a circular firing squad.

And the last few CPAC meetings -- with a rostrum designed like a Nazi symbol -- clearly indicate a takeover by extremists very much like the America First bunch that opposed American involvement in WW2.
