One thing I noticed was that when there was an arrow saying keep left, some of the protestors actually moved to the left. It was kind of funny and ironic.

Regarding the metal detectors.. why are they so up in arms about it? As of right now they're legally allowed to carry, right? They go through and it gets set off. Step to the side and the guard confirms they're carrying (with the required paperwork) and off they go. Or are they having to give up their weapons?

It is an effort to not allow weapons on the House floor. Theoretically, members should have gone through security already before going to the floor, but we know so many of them do not - and that would likely include the ones who are carrying.

Ohh, ok. They're complaining about the second layer. Which is not so easy to get around.

The rules are the rules. While it's a "public" building it's not like walking around outside. Build a coalition. Convince the others it's a good idea. Then follow the rules agreed on. Even if it's not what you want. That goes for carrying OR banning carrying.

But that calls for being civil and some people can't.
