I read the Politico article where the information was included - and it was not the focus of the story. It was part of a larger magazine article. Something else seems like it might be at play here. We'll see.
I agree that being a rape survivor -- and brave enough to report it in the military -- is a plus and not a smear. If Politico is telling the truth that they got the candidate's records with an FOI request -- and there's a public record of those, so I don't know why they'd lie -- why are we releasing what are essentially private personnel records? I could see saying a person was honorably or dishonorably discharged on a certain date, had certain commendations, achieved a certain rank. But rape?
I had to do a search for "Republican simplicity." Interesting and enlightening.

We know Jamie's doing well when he irritates both sides. btw, I actually believe Biden doesn't know what he's saying given his slide into dementia... that's a gaffe... a lie on the other hand is something untrue being told with an intent to deceive. That feels more like Trump.
Most of the time, what aggravates people is their perception of what *should be* the emphasis on a story, flowing from their own political beliefs. For example, my top story today was about the hot mic with Schumer & Biden. I found that interesting, because you can never trust a politician to give you a true public read about an ongoing election - it's always skewed in their favor. So - for us to hear Schumer giving Biden some updates - that was cool.
But my first email of the day was a complaint from a Democrat about that Schumer-Biden story, yelling about how awful the media was, and why am I making this into a scandal?
I had to laugh, because it's not a scandal for the Democrats - it was just something very interesting. But this person took it as a media mistake and was angry about it.
