I am reminded on a daily basis how violent January 6th was because of your rap sheet. Thank you for keeping us focused. Our National lack of long term attention is showing.
It's great to finally see bipartisan action to improve the lives of junior enlisted members of our armed forces. Having twice been a squadron commander in my 20+ year USAF career, I remember too well the plight of many of my enlisted folks struggling to make ends meet. Bipartisanship, would have thunk!
And what better way to attract new people and keep those who are already serving. Over half of the discretionary budget is for the military, but doesn't seem to get to all the right places.
I have never understood why the Congress has ignored this problem for so long. Both parties love to talk about bad housing or bad wages etc in the military - but nothing seems to get done about it. Instead, the shiny new weapons systems are more important.
Yeah, "Support our troops" sounds great, but they won't do it in any practical way. Certainly our serving troops deserve decent housing and living wages. Also certainly, our veterans should NEVER lack for health care, including mental health. I'm not generally for creating more combat veterans, but once we have, we owe them everything.
I see this type of thing and can only think of it one way - there's not much in the way of a lobby for 'better housing and conditions for military families', but there certainly is for 'spend more money on weapons systems'.
Your comment reminds me of the skyrocketing costs of housing across the country. Having lived in the shadow of Ft. Moore (formerly Ft. Benning) I know how important the basic allowance for housing (BAH) is for married personnel.
The connection between housing costs and homelessness seems obvious.
I was living in Indiana when Pence got elected governor and immediately started campaigning for president. So I'm not surprised he's positioning himself as a true red conservative in case Trump is imprisoned before November.

There is one guy on Twitter who every day posts video of rioters clashing with the cops outside the building. They weren't tourists.
And, I repost them every single day, as well.
Thanks for working all these consecutive days Jamie. After the Senate leaves you should/could take a weekday off. :)
My boss doesn't like days off
Aren’t you your boss? Lol. Or are you referring to Mrs. Dupree?

No doubt it might attract more volunteers - a good thing, but it will absolutely have a huge impact on retention.

Soldiers don't have lobbyists, war machine corporations do.

I live 15 miles from Ft. Liberty/Bragg. We are in a crisis of homelessness among our vets. We are failing them.
Wow. The freedum caucus guy chooses a known nazi over one of his own party.
This is what the GOP is, and it is dead as a doornail. And good riddance.
So the House does 1 thing on Saturday & they get the rest of the week off? Great work if you can get it!
This was originally scheduled as a break week. That's why we think the Senate will come back tomorrow and try to finish the aid bill
