"If Joe Biden is not fit to run for President, he is not fit to serve as President. He must resign the office immediately," If only there was a precedent of President peacefully leaving office at the end of their term.

I was thinking the same thing. I also find it fascinating, given his Jan. 6-related antics, that Johnson feels he has any credibility to speak about when a president should resign.

I hate that we’ve reached this point, and I don’t think Dems are willing to kick to Biden to the curb, but it might be a savvy move to slide Kamala into the “incumbent” role.

I think Mark Kelly is the best choice for VP. He has the military experience, the NASA experience, and his wife survived an assassination attempt. That cancels out the Trump-Vance angles. Add to that his record as a moderate, and that his seat can be filled for two years by the governor. He checks all the boxes and—at this point—has no baggage. As long as the Dems keep showing that DJT is the same guy he has always been, they should be able to reinvigorate the Dem base as well as the moderate voter. The fundraising over the past 24 hours appears to show this to be a possibility.

Telling that the GOP is not happy with Biden's withdrawal.

It’s also telling that 45 is suddenly hedging on the second debate which could now be billed as the prosecutor vs. the felon.

How long before DT starts demanding her birth certificate?

Since it’s the most recent example, I’m wondering what the congressional response was back in 1981 when Reagan, who was the sitting president, was shot and came close to death. Was there an immediate call for the SS director to testify? Did the director ultimately lose his job? In that case, they didn’t clear a rope line Hinckley was loitering in.

Clearly in the Trump case, SS has a lot to answer for as well, especially given there was a fatality.

1. Agreed. Johnson needs to shut up. Credibility zero

2. I saw Kamala beat up Joe in 2020 debates, Barr hearing. She will handle tRump if he shows

3. First Manassas, not Bull Run. I will die on this hill.🤣

I don’t get something… aren’t the SS agents on the rapist’s patrol personally approved by the convict? Like, if he didn’t like someone because they’re woke, they’d be gone, and if he loves someone because they’re a rabid magat, he keeps them?

So… what does he have to complain about? These were his people, weren’t they?

Josh Shapiro seems like a front runner when I see them all listed out. But I know that local politics are different from national, and I'm not a PA resident. I think about the poor choice of Palin in 2008 because I was in AK at the time. And there were rumblings of her corruption in local news that never got the national attention.

I don't have any insights into the 3 Governors, other than what I see like other people. One would assume they are being vetted as we speak - just in case. You never know.

I wonder if the governors don’t have a better role in remaining where they are to whip up votes.

Good point!

I just think a D governor that can win a R state has something special going on! Don’t upset the apple cart! Let them send do their thing!

I wonder where Andy Beshear is falling. That would be a fun VP debate!

He is def an asset, but I tend to think that his role as a Dem governor in a red state is far more influential than moving him to the national stage. He maintains the check and balance needed right where he is.

It definitely would.

Alternate headline for all the immediate Biden resignation calls: "Swaths of Elected Republicans Support Kamala Harris for President."

Would Republicans really want to have incumbent President Harris on the Democratic ballot instead of just VP Harris?

Jamie, you've seen so many things in your journalism career now. What's left? Presidential resignation.

I still stand by my prediction earlier this year--more so than ever. Biden will pardon Hunter before he leaves.

He won’t need to if tя☭mp’s pocket judge said special council’s are illegal and he wins that appeal.

Didn't I read somewhere that Hunter's lawyers filed that right after Cannon dismissed the documents case.
