"a number of Democrats in the House and Senate seemingly want Biden to step aside in favor of Vice President Kamala Harris" - surely they are kidding. Harris will do even worse than Biden would in the general election. Find a rising superstar, they are out there. Kamala Harris is not one of them.

Pete Buttigieg has already declared for 2028. Maybe he would agree to run now. He's /actually/ a stable genius, and thinks quickly on his feet. I don't think Trump could run over him in a debate. Downside for electability: He's gay. Reason to doubt he would agree: He and his husband have two small children, and a run would be hard for them. Reason to think he would agree: He's a patriot, a veteran, and truly understands the threat to democracy that Trump is. So if he thought he was the best chance to beat Trump, he would try.

She's already garnering lower support than Biden in polling. As a result, none of that will matter. But you have a point - the elite of the Democratic Party will worry about offending one group or another and that's WAY more important than winning this election. /sarcasm

I'm a woman, and I don't think Harris is all that great. Of course, Biden hasn't given her the ability to shine, as Obama gave Biden. I do fault him for that. Especially given his age, he should have been succession planning.

In the 1930s Oklahoman Will Rogers said the more you observe the more one has to realize each patty is worse then the other. Not much as changed in 90 years.

I think joe biden lucked out 4 years ago because of covid. He looked bad a the first Democrat debate. Then covid stopped everything. He got to stay in his basement. We would have seen this 4 years ago if not for covid.
