When I first started making regular appearances on conservative talk radio, I couldn't get over how much they wanted to talk about Hillary (it's the same thing now with AOC). So in that sense, it doesn't shock me that they STILL are talking about Hillary in 2023. The first two days of hearings were not a good start for the GOP. They're going to need some new facts real quick. There's only so long that you can hold what's basically an extended Fox News segment - even Fox News didn't show much of the Weaponization hearing.

You are absolutely correct. I still say the easiest way to help is to have payroll taxes kick in again at say $500,000 per year in income (they currently phase out around $140k). But that's a tax increase and so the GOP won't be interested in that.

Good observation Adam. When it comes to Trump - he always has been the butt of jokes, but mainly from his enemies. If it starts mounting among his GOP allies, then that is something to watch.

The last time I checked, HRC has not held public office since 2013, a decade ago. Good to see the GOP is still thinking about her.

But here was the line in today’s newsletter that floored me: Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) used his testimony to complain that the Justice Department has been too zealous in its prosecution of January 6 rioters.

It’s unfortunate these hearings aren’t getting more media traction. Voters should know how their tax dollars are being spent.

One Republican this week said they wanted to bring Comey in for questioning. I'm sure Democrats would love that.

That joke from Nancy Mace was savage! Curious to see if Trump becomes the butt of more jokes, and if that presages a slow decline into irrelevance.

I do wish both parties would be serious about Social Security/Medicare as something will have to change, both on the revenue and expense side. The other day Pompeo was being interviewed and he had the courage to acknowledge it. For those interested here's a fun tool to use. https://www.crfb.org/socialsecurityreformer/

Thank you for the update on Blanton. His audacity floors me. Misuse of government property, misrepresentation, failure to perform duties, lying…..and he still holds a position.

“The worst Congressional testimony I’ve ever seen.”

I thought for sure you’d be using that phrase to describe that insane “WEAPONIZATION!!!” hearing. Or the pitiful “HUNTER BIDEN!!” hearing.

Although it WAS fun to watch Boebert’s forehead veins bulging with anger about being shadow banned… she had more rage over that than J6.

Both hearings were incredibly poorly run and worthless. THIS is what the GQP does with their new power… Not inflation, immigration, the price of eggs, etc.

Not sure how anyone who votes republican will ever admit it again. Except for, you know, the racists and poorly educated and masochists and Russian compromats.
