"Referring to him as ‘the President’ or ‘Mr. Trump’ was considered a verbal slight." - as a native English speaker with a solid command of the language, how about Traitor Asshole? Seems to ring true.
“ATTRIBUTION. Tuberville’s complaint reminds me of how some conservative talk radio listeners would complain when I did not say ‘President Trump’ every single time on the radio. Referring to him on a second or third reference as ‘the President’ or ‘Mr. Trump’ was considered a verbal slight. I don’t understand that kind of worship.”
Story Time: In a past job, I helped a client with their medical claim and greeted him as Mr. “Smith.” He politely corrected me and said, “It’s REVEREND ‘Smith.’” I obliged.
The claim took a few months to resolve so I interacted often with him always greeting him with REVEREND “Smith” as he requested. At one point I found out he was sexually harassing some hired help we set up regarding his claim and for some reason I felt the need to google him at that point when I heard the details of the complaints and found out he was a convicted child sex offender...
He didn’t know I knew, but I stopped referring to home as “REVEREND” at that point when I would have to call him to follow up on his claim and you wouldn’t believe how offended he got and would demand I call him “REVEREND.”
In my experience, I feel the pearl clutching is just a way to deflect from the ugly truth and hide the fact these folks don’t actually deserve their title😐

Jamie, I also follow you on Twitter/X and I'm always amazed at the commentary you get there vs. here.
Oh yeah, it is bad on Twitter. Lots of bots after yesterday. You can tell the difference between an audience that pays and one which does not.
Troll makes it sound good. These aren't good people.
Thanks for the detail of Reagan’s 1982 dealings with Begin. The journal entry was fascinating, Jamie.

Speaking of the defense budget. Are we still manufacturing obsolete planes and deliverying them straight to the “mothball yard” in the desert?
Or is that the surplus we are supplying to allies, therefore, there is some use?
