In regards to the Snafu with the clerk, I think the best solution in “Dupree for President”. Finally, we will have “Regular Order”

It was 2024 and early voting had begun, I was speaking to a young Man and he said he had already voted for Trump

Why?

No taxes on overtime

I pointed out that Trump had campaigned to eliminate overtime all together

PS. Thanks to the swing district Republicans for protecting labor vs the Trump overreach

Considering the importance of the ACA subsidies extension, the timing of the ‘mistake’ by the clerk’s office seems suspicious, at least to me. I know nothing about the House clerk’s office, but, as you said, this is a big mistake, and a significant one.

Mixed messages are not remarkable in politics but I sense that is becoming more deliberate than accidental. I lost track of how many times I read or heard conflicting accounts of Renee Good's death, depending on which side of the story the source was standing.

The same tactic is used to keep the coals hot but not bursting into flames about nearly everything this administration does -- Venezuela, Greenland, Iran, China, Russia -- it appears to be the new normal for this administration. L'affair Renee Good is just another bump in the road. I don't know about others but I have come to expect lies and deception from Donald Trump and everyone around him.

--> Today's MUSE OF HISTORY underscores the mixed messages point. That protest in 1968 was three years before America learned about one of the worst cases of mixed messaging in our lifetime. The Pentagon Papers were published three years later in 1971.

People in other countries get to enjoy their lives instead of constantly following politics. Except for the countries America is harassing of course

And to your point, I just came across a video this morning underscoring that very point.

I never heard of either the host or his Venezuelan guest but it became clear that life in Venezuela is quite different from what most Americans might think, thanks mostly to ignorance but also ideas shaped by the media.

As we were discussing mixed messages my first video of the morning underscores how current events illustrate the point. Col. Wilkerson really knows his stuff.

My first comment.

Thanks for keeping us aware of yet another clusterf*k in Congress.

What else is new?

Now I'll get to reading the rest of Regular Order.

Jamie, is there any reason Democrats wouldn’t (or shouldn’t) add the provision requiring future bills to be sent over to the senate in short order? I seem to recall reading in some previous editions of ‘Regular Order’ that bills were being quietly killed, ostensibly, by Mike Johnson and never making it over to the senate.

What would be the drawback of including language prohibiting that sort of thing?

Jamie Dupree's avatar

It used to be standard language, but was dropped over the years.

Republicans.

It's hard to tell which is their worst quality.

Incompetence? hell yes. Corrupt? Of course. Indecent, stupid, hateful, fearful? all of the above.

Utter fucking assholes, god damn racists, pedophile enablers & protectors... yes.

God damn fucking rapists? Fake christians, fake americans, fake patriots.

Losers, hosers, sacks of shit, convicts, felons, filth, subhuman, obviously.

Deranged cultists who defend killer cops, masked, unmarked cars, no responsibility, no authority, no training, no fucking brains, no fucking balls.

These sick fucks don't deserve to live in America, don't deserve a single nice thing. As they cheer the dictatorship of a military roaming the streets and abusing anyone they feel like abusing? All they deserve is to be treated like they treat everyone else.

They are today's gestapo. They are today's nazis.

They are the worst example of slime in history.

And they keep voting to make it worse.

FUCK THESE ASSHOLES.

I agree this is horrible

Love how thorough you always are ! 🤓😎

Well alright Paul Harvey, I mean Jamie! I understand mistakes happen but to me it is just all part of the game at this point. Either purposely or by design this just goes to show what a clusterf the current congress is. And basically our entire federal government from the top of the little orange degenerate to the bottom is a dumpster fire. I remember when the gop used to call us a third rate country when a democrate was in charge well careful what words you use because good god here we are truly a third rate country with a wanna be dictator and all!

All of these clowns need to be voted out of office Republicans and Democrats. The Republicans are white supremacists and the Democrats are aipac corrupt. We need to vote them all out and vote for people that will put America first and the abide by the constitution.

Jeanette Rankin - a name I think I should probably have known but didn’t. Fascinating!

One correction: the Texas primary is March 3, not 5. Your point still stands, though: it's coming up fast.

Rep. Jasmine Crockett is also running for a Senate nomination, just from the Democratic side. Is she showing up to work? I'm supporting her opponent, plus the Democrats need all the votes they can get, so I'm happy for her to stay in DC. But it is hard to campaign and do your job at the same time.
